ACEF Scholars
Alabama Power & Calhoun Power Scholarship
The Calhoun Power scholarship was established by Calhoun Power Company, LLC located in Eastaboga, Alabama. Calhoun Power offers three scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to major in Electrical Engineering or related fields. These scholarships award up to $2000, are renewable only one time and divided across the fall and spring semesters.
Requirements
Applicants must be graduating seniors living in Calhoun County.
Applicants must be planning to focus on electrical/electronic/engineering-related fields.
Applicants must have at least a 2.0-grade point average (or a “C” average).
Seniors must have either consistently strong academics or be able to demonstrate improvement over their time in high school, as well as a desire to attend college.
Applicants must demonstrate community involvement: seniors must be able to show at least 20 hours of community service over their time in high school while returning applicants must have 40 hours over the previous year.
Applicants may not be related to any ACEF staff or member of the Board of Directors as this presents a conflict of interest.
Applicants must be willing to attend a scholarship orientation with the Anniston Community Education Foundation (at least two spring/summer sessions will be scheduled
