The STEAM Experience
Program Description
The STEAM Experience offers a series of mini STEAM lessons delivered throughout the semester to students in elementary and middle school. STEAM instructors partner with industry professionals, subject matter experts, and college students pursuing STEAM careers to deliver hands-on learning, interactive activities, and collaborative projects to increase students' knowledge and interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Students are exposed to real-world problems to encourage critical thinking and develop solutions. These mini STEAM lessons vary in length and are adaptable to each school's or organization's instructional needs.
Program Objectives
Inspire students to explore careers in Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Provide exposure to various STEAM fields and real-world problems to encourage critical thinking and developing solutions.
Provide supplemental STEAM instruction and exposure to high-quality STEM enrichment activities to elementary and middle school students.
Teach students to practice collaborative work skills frequently required in STEAM-based careers and/or projects.
Program Requirements
Must be enrolled in a participating school district or have a membership with a community partner
Must be in elementary or middle school
Must be able to participate in club activities 1-2 hours per week
